For immediate release: Friday, 23 March 2007
Los Angeles, California - HumanWare, the global leader in assistive technologies for vision, and Code Factory, a leader in computer software for blind users, are jointly demonstrating their products working together at the California State University Northridge (CSUN) Technology & Persons with Disabilities Conference 2007.
The two companies are showing Code Factory's Mobile Speak Pocket, to which HumanWare has the exclusive English-language license, running on a personal digital assistant (PDA) with a Brailliant BrailleNote display, connected via a Bluetooth connection to HumanWare's BrailleNote platform.
"HumanWare is the exclusive distributor of Mobile Speak Pocket in English-speaking countries," said Eduard Sánchez, Code Factory CEO. "We are proud to see them offering innovative solutions tying their existing product family ever more closely to Mobile Speak Pocket."
HumanWare is also demonstrating an upcoming version of Mobile Speak Pocket running on a PDA. The new version of MSP includes Braille games developed in response to HumanWare's Support Braille Literacy initiative.
HumanWare is holding additional sessions to demonstrate their bundled solution of Mobile Speak Pocket and a Brailliant Braille display, offered at competitive prices since the launch of HumanWare's Support Braille Literacy effort in January.
"HumanWare is proud to be the exclusive English-language reseller of Mobile Speak Pocket - and happy to be getting such a good response to it from our customers and partners," said Richard Mander, HumanWare CEO.
Mobile Speak Pocket is a full-fledged screen reader for blind and low vision users that provides innovative access to mobile devices such as PDA's and mobile phones powered by the Pocket PC and Pocket PC Phone editions of the Windows Mobile® operating system.
HumanWare is the exclusive distributor of Mobile Speak Pocket in English-language versions. HumanWare's BrailleNote family is the leading family of notetaker devices for the blind, leading the market since its introduction in 2001.
HumanWare will be demonstrating the current, pre-release version of Mobile Speak Pocket, including the new Braille learning games, as well as the currently available version of Mobile Speak Pocket throughout CSUN and afterward.
