Synchronizing with the Windows Vista operating system
Under Windows Vista, you will need the Windows Mobile Device Center to sync your PDA with your computer.
The Windows Mobile Device Center can be downloaded from Microsoft's website.
Windows Mobile Device Center installation procedure.
Note that it is recommended to install the cradle and PDA only after installing Windows Mobile Device Center. It is also important to install and setup Outlook 2002 prior to installing the Windows Mobile Device Center.
Launch the installation file that you have downloaded to begin the installation process.
Windows will ask if you want to run this file. Select Run to launch installation, or Cancel to abort.
When presented with Microsoft License Terms, select Accept to continue with the installation process or Decline to abort.
The first time you launch the Windows Mobile Device Center with the PDA connected, you will be presented with two options. You can either Set Up your Device, or you can Connect without Setting up your device. The first option allows you to sync various files and settings between your computer and PDA. The second option allows you to manually transfer files only.
If you select the first option, Set up your device, you will be asked in the Set Up Windows Partnership to select the items you want to sync. Check each item using the mouse or navigate from one element to the next using the arrows and make your selections using the spacebar. Once you are done, select Next to continue or cancel to abort. Once you press Next, you will be asked to provide a name for your PDA. Press Set up to complete the process.
Now that the Set up process has been completed, if necessary you may use the Windows Mobile Device Center to make changes to the partnership settings between your computer and PDA. To do so, you may select among the following options: Programs and services, Pictures, music and Video, File management, and Mobile Device settings.
