Trekker uses electronic maps from Navteq, the world leader in premium-quality digital map data for North America and Europe.Digital maps provides detailed and handy door-to-door information for pedestrian use, making it easy to find restaurants to hospitals to banks. Navteq creates and maintains a highly dynamic database. The database contains all street names and ranges of addresses for urban areas, as well as over 1,500,000 points of interest both in North America and Europe, organized under convenient categories.

Digital maps are updated on a regular basis. Navteq captures its primary information from direct field collection and third-party sources, providing accurate and constantly improved information. HumanWare provides a yearly upgrade.

NAVTEQ’s Map Reporter allows you to tell us where an update to a map may be necessary.

As part of its quality improvement process, Navteq has a feedback process for their users which is called Database Update Request (DUR). If there is a discrepancy in a street or POI information reported by Trekker’ map (i.e. a name of a street or a POI), a user can report it to Navteq.

DUR’s are processed promptly, then sent to the Regional Field Office Staff for research and correction. Customers will then receive feedback online, detailing any changes to the NAVTEQ map database.

We have arranged with Navteq to be part of the lists of equipments to report. Here is the procedure:

  • Choose your language
  • Fill in the contact information and the problem location information
  • Select the system brand:
    1. a. Select system type ‘PDA or Mobile device’
    2. b. Select the manufacturer: HP or Dell
    3. c. Select the model: Dell
    4. d. Select the system: Trekker
  • Describe the year of update
  • Describe the problem and document it.
