Installation
There are two different installations: one for the iPAQ 4150 and Dell X50 and another for the Dell X51. The content of the versions are the same in both installations, please ensure to select the proper installation compatible with your platform and to follow up the On screen procedure also described in the Companion CD Read Me file.
In order to upgrade your Maestro or Trekker Solo application, please do not perform a hard reset beforehand as this will result in the loss of the authentication key. To begin installation, please follow this procedure:
1. Turn off the Bluetooth radio
2. Check the memory available on your PDA: to perform the upgrade, a HP iPAQ 4150 requires 5 MB, a Dell X50 requires 5 MB and a Dell X51 or IPAQ hx2490b requires 25 MB.
3. Exit the Maestro or Trekker Solo application
4. Remove all your memory cards
5. Perform a soft reset with the stylus.
6. Establish an Active Synch guest partnership.
7. Execute the Maestro or Trekker install option on the Install CD menu or if installing from a download image, execute the Setup.exe file.
The Maestro and Trekker Solo installation procedure takes 2 to 3 minutes to transfer files to the PDA. This is followed by a finish dialog on your PC. But the installation has not been completed yet; it has just started on the PDA itself. At the end of the installation on the PDA, Maestro is launched automatically. If you are performing an upgrade, the PDA will reboot twice during this process and Maestro/Trekker Solo will launch after the second reboot. In case Maestro/Trekker does not launch automatically, press the System bar key to start the application after you hear the last ActiveSync connection sound.
Note: The installation should not be performed while synchronizing events. In the ActiveSync settings window, uncheck all programs to be synchronized. Alternatively, cancel your partnership and establish a Guest partnership. To establish a Guest partnership, press Cancel or Escape once the Partnership window pops-up.
