Today HumanWare, the world's leading manufacturer and distributor of technologies designed to assist persons who are blind and visually impaired, announced the appointment of JoAnn Becker as its Blindness Product Education Manager, effective immediately. Becker joins the HumanWare team with twenty-plus years of experience in both mainstream and adaptive technology industries. In the early 1980s, Becker played a key role in launching, marketing, and selling the original Kurzweil Reading Machine. She also served as President of the American Action Fund for the National Federation of the Blind. Most recently, JoAnn served in a product marketing management capacity for Optelec U.S.
"We're ecstatic to have hired JoAnn to the HumanWare team," stated Dominic Gagliano, Vice President of Blindness Products Sales, HumanWare U.S. "Her passion in promoting Braille literacy coupled with her desire to represent innovative adaptive technologies makes her the perfect addition to champion new projects that we have planned for the educational and vocational markets."
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with a company that is committed to championing Braille literacy, the empowering tool for blind people," Becker stated. "Humanware has an exemplary reputation for listening to, and then responding to customer needs. I look forward to contributing to Humanware's commitment to its Customers' success."
While much of Becker's time will be spent serving customers and distributors in the US, she will also be devoting time to assist other HumanWare subsidiaries in promoting Braille literacy and HumanWare's ever-growing blindness product line.
