BrailleNote: The Centerpiece of Research and Report Writing

• This presentation will discuss research methods and techniques using the BrailleNote as the centerpiece of data collection, organization, and report creation.
• Strategies and techniques will be discussed for determining correct network settings a user will need to connect with different wireless access points.
• Access and navigating of web pages using KeyWeb with emphasis on information gathered from online search engines, online encyclopedias, and online libraries for the blind and visually impaired such as "BookShare.org," and NLS web Braille.
• Presentation on report writing from notes compiled into an acceptable written report format. Techniques for using the new onboard dictionary, Thesaurus, and spell checking features in the BrailleNote will be discussed.

This presentation will explain the basics and benefits of Global Positioning System (GPS) for the blind and visually impaired. You will learn how HumanWare has adapted Trekker to be a powerful and efficient aid, allowing route creation, access to point of interest data, heading and many more features to enjoy more autonomy and independence. Trekker GPS is gaining in popularity and we are working on a new concept for a simple GPS system with the same powerful features but much easier to use thus expanding this great technology and our experience for a larger population.
