Christchurch (New Zeland) and Nuremburg (Germany). New Zealand-based Pulse Data International and Eschenbach Optik GmbH + Co of Nuremberg, Germany, have signed a strategic relationship agreement to bring together the combined strengths of their companies.

Effective immediately, the strategic relationship will result in Pulse Data, a world leading producer of electronic assistive devices for visually impaired persons, and Eschenbach’s Vision Technology Products Division, the world leading producer of specialist optical lenses for visually impaired persons, working very closely together on a range of joint marketing, distribution, sales, and research initiatives.

To complement its existing range of optical lenses, magnifiers and special vision aids, Eschenbach will add Pulse Data’s SmartView and PocketViewer video magnifiers to its product range. These products will be promoted and sold through Eschenbach’s established distributions channels.
In turn Pulse Data will promote Eschenbach’s products and increase its focus on penetrating and growing its market share in the specialist eye care markets.

Both companies will collaborate on entering new geographic markets, and on expanding each others’ presence in existing markets. Both companies together represent the widest and complete product-range world-wide which enables the eye-care professional, as well as the end-user, to buy all low vision solutions from one source.

“Pulse Data is committed to being able to provide the most comprehensive and innovative array of low vision products and services to people who are visually impaired” said Dr. Russell Smith, Pulse Data International’s CEO.

According to Dr. Wolfgang Rebstock, the CEO of Eschenbach, “Both companies view our respective electronic and optical low vision products as complementary and we see great advantages in establishing this strategic relationship. Our aim is to give people with low vision the highest quality products and service available, wherever needed in the world”.

The Partners believe that together they will be the leading providers of low vision products worldwide. To have a strategic agreement with a team that shares the same values as their own can only be of benefit to everyone, especially the end users of the products.
