Over the past 25 years, HumanWare has been offering a complete range of innovative assistive technology solutions that empower students who have visual impairments and learning disabilities. Since the very beginning, our focus has been to ensure that the assistive technologies developed enhanced the learning experience in schools as well as facilitated other areas such as organization, independence, orientation and mobility, as well as leisure and recreation.

We understand that in the context of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), educators will be under pressure to invest these monies wisely. It is with those preoccupations in mind that we have developed our Assistive Technologies Resources Guide. We believe it will help you and your colleagues match your students' individual needs with the learning goals you wish to achieve.

As an integrated solution provider, we offer a comprehensive schedule of professional development sessions and free webinars provided by product managers and frequent guest presenters who are leaders in the field of assistive technologies. HumanWare offers free on-site training and workshops. These are provided by qualified product specialists who use the technology over the course of their daily lives, whether they are at home or at work. Training can be customized to meet the needs of your teachers and students. We can also help you train your own trainers in order to fulfill the sustainability requirements of the funding you will dedicate to these programs.

We believe that the IDEA & Title 1 funding included in the Stimulus plan will serve as an important step in providing better accessibility for students with special needs.  According to the Council for Exceptional Children it is ‘'the biggest boost to special education in more than a generation''. We at HumanWare certainly hope we can be a part of this historic leap in the development of your special education programs.
