The software can access virtually any document or publication, whether printed or electronic. It then reads the words aloud to the student in clear, synthetic speech while a patented dual highlighting feature adds visual reinforcement on their computer screen.

• Macintosh User Interface - Kurzweil 3000 is designed specifically for Macintosh computers.
• Unique Test-Taking Capabilities - with Kurzweil 3000, students can independently complete worksheets, tests or standardized exams. Students requiring accommodations can seamlessly answer fill-in-the blanks, multiple choice, true/false, short answer and essay questions, while using a customized selection of writing tools, comprehension aids and visual modifications as appropriate. Test Taking Tools are approved accommodations in many areas.
• Powerful Study Skills Tools - students improve their reading comprehension and retention with tools that facilitate active reading including highlighting, annotations, sticky notes, and extraction of outlines or word lists..
