For over half a century, digital braille has been limited to one line at a time. It’s time for a new chapter.

At HumanWare, we’re proud to unveil a pre-release of JAWS® featuring native multiline braille support for the Monarch, marking a significant step forward in braille and screen reader interaction.

Discover what’s coming:

  • Wrapped Mode: Uninterrupted flow of text across multiple lines, creating a smoother reading experience.
  • Cropped Mode: Facilitates ease of orientation and navigation within a table, such as in Word or Excel. Columns remain vertically aligned, and up to eight rows can be viewed at once.

This is more than a device—it’s a new way for braille users to engage with the digital world.

Visit us at Sight City, taking place in Frankfurt, Germany from May 21 to 23—Level 2, Stand 2.03—for an exclusive first look at how Monarch and JAWS® screen reader support are transforming braille in multiple ways.

Monarch, the multiline braille device developed by HumanWare and APH, offers a richer, more dynamic reading experience through seamless integration with JAWS®, made possible by our collaboration with Vispero.
