Prodigi version 1.4.2 opens the door to more libraries

We’re excited to share that Prodigi for Windows v1.4.2 is now available. This update makes the Books app even better, with access to more trusted libraries in your region.

What’s new in v1.4.2

You can now connect to:

  • Bookshare Ireland
  • RNIB Bookshare
  • RNIB Reading Services
  • Blind Low Vision New Zealand
  • ChildVision

Enter your credentials, browse, download, and read titles directly inside Prodigi with your preferred zoom, contrast, and audio settings.

Why this matters

  • More choice: More libraries = more books, study materials, and leisure reading.
  • One simple place: Read, listen, bookmark, and navigate without switching apps.
  • Made for low vision: Large text views, high-contrast options, and natural read-aloud voices.

A quick reminder from v1.4

In September, we introduced the Prodigi AI Assistant in the Magnifier app. With it, you can ask questions, get summaries, or translate what’s under your camera, making it easier to understand printed and handwritten content quickly.

How to update

  • Current users: You’ll see a prompt when you open Prodigi. Click Update Now.
  • Manual update: Go to Settings → System → Software Update.
  • New to Prodigi? Try the 14-day free trial and see the Books app and AI in action.
