Why braille still matters

Technology continues to transform how we access information, but braille remains an essential literacy tool for many people who are blind or partially sighted.

Braille provides direct access to spelling, punctuation, grammar and document structure, while supporting privacy and independence at school, at work and in everyday life.

And braille continues to evolve. Today’s electronic braille displays and braille-first devices connect tactile literacy with digital content, communication, education and professional applications.

That is what our National Braille Week sessions are all about: bringing the technology to local communities and giving people the opportunity to experience it first-hand.

Find your nearest session above and come meet the HumanWare team.
