We move together: Every dollar doubles with HumanWare and the National Federation of the Blind

This fall, HumanWare is proud to once again partner with the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) in support of the annual matching gift challenge. Together, we are building momentum for dignity, independence, and opportunity for blind people everywhere.

The campaign theme, From coast to coast, we move together, reflects the strength of a community united in purpose. Through technology, advocacy, and collaboration, every step helps create a world where blind people can live the lives they want.

Why this challenge matters

The NFB is the largest organization led by blind people in the United States. Since 1940, it has advanced equality through advocacy, training, education, and technology development—breaking down barriers, creating opportunity, and changing how the world sees blindness.

This year’s NFB matching gift challenge, supported by HumanWare, doubles your impact. Every dollar given between October 1 and December 31, 2025 will be matched up to $50,000. Plus, during the week of White Cane Awareness Day, an additional $25,000 match will apply—making your gift go even further.

How to give and double your impact

  • Give online
  • Mail a check to: National Federation of the Blind, 200 East Wells Street, Baltimore, MD 21230
  • Contribute by phone: call 410-659-9314, extension 2430

Every contribution counts—and during this campaign, every dollar is matched.

Find your route: join our coast-to-coast movement

This campaign isn’t just about giving—it’s about movement. NFB supporters will gather at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Run on November 9, 2025, and the California International Marathon on December 7, 2025. These events symbolize strength and solidarity, but the impact extends far beyond the finish line. Whether you join in person or from afar, you are part of a nationwide movement of dignity and inclusion.

Movement also starts with independence. HumanWare solutions like StellarTrek and its predecessor, Victor Reader Trek—digital orientation and mobility assistants with GPS and tactile buttons—enable blind people to chart a course with confidence. We encourage users of these products to join the spirit of the campaign by setting landmarks along training routes and sharing their journeys. Paired with innovations such as Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, these tools empower users to find routes, discover landmarks, and take part fully.

This October, during Blind Equality Achievement Month, the NFB invites everyone to get involved: walk in person, go virtual, share a training milestone—and most importantly, support the campaign by making a donation. Together, every step and every dollar doubles the impact.

The importance of partnership, at home and abroad

Change does not happen in isolation—partnership multiplies impact. By joining forces with individuals, donors, advocates, and organizations, we amplify voices, spread awareness, and accelerate progress. HumanWare’s continued support of the matching gift challenge is a testament to the power of collaboration.

While based in the United States, the NFB’s mission resonates worldwide. Blindness knows no borders, and neither does the pursuit of dignity and opportunity. Through international partnerships, technology innovation, and networks like the World Blind Union, the NFB strengthens a global community where blind people can thrive.

Your support—wherever you are—makes this possible.
