We are excited to share that Prodigi for Windows v1.5 expands the Prodigi AI Assistant, adds ten more libraries and audiobook support to Books, and improves reading, navigation, and overall stability.

Prodigi AI Assistant

Now available as its own app in the Main Carousel

Use the new AI Assistant tile for general questions and help anytime.

Available in more places

You can also use the Assistant in Magnifier, Files, Books, and Distance to ask questions about:

  • Camera views
  • Saved or imported images and documents
  • Book and magazine pages
  • General questions

Chats saved with your content

When you ask questions about a file, image, or book, the conversation is saved with that item so you can pick up where you left off. Past answers can still be read even when you are offline.

Voice input and easier reading

You can speak your questions. A short beep confirms when recording starts and stops. Point-and-click and gestures can now be used to start and stop reading from any word in a chat. A new toolbar includes reading and zoom controls, as well as options to adjust chat text and change speech rate or voice settings.

Clear privacy messages and Feature Lock

Before sharing a book page, image, or text with the Assistant, Prodigi displays a clear message to let you know what is being shared. Feature Lock has also been improved to limit AI access when needed.

Books and Audiobooks

Audiobook support

Audiobooks can now be read. These are clearly identified in libraries and include:

  • Playback speed control
  • Navigation and Bookmark menus (jump by chapter or time)
  • Keyboard shortcuts for quick control

More libraries, easier access

Support has been extended to Blind Low Vision NZ and nine additional libraries. Project Gutenberg is now enabled by default to provide immediate access.

EPUB import and book info

You can import EPUB files (including books sent by publishers). You can also view a book’s Info without opening it.

Usability and stability updates

With these helpful updates, you can:

  • Turn AI Assistant, Books, and Distance on or off in the Main Carousel, simplifying the home screen.
  • Rotate images shared with the AI Assistant.
  • Copy file names when needed.
  • Maintain focus when deleting items in Files.
  • View long TXT files with virtual paging for easier reading.
  • Change reading speed directly in Files while reading.
  • Use F-key shortcuts on any keyboard.
  • Navigate with more consistent button sounds.
  • Enjoy general improvements to stability, performance, and long-session reliability.

How to get this update

Prodigi will alert you when v1.5 is available. You can also check manually:

  1. Open Prodigi.
  2. Go to Settings > System > Software Update.
  3. Follow the prompts.

Your files and settings are kept during the update.
